Making digital healthcare experiences easier for the people who rely on them.
In healthcare, trust is everything. We work with providers, governments, and nonprofits to design digital tools that support clinical decisions, enable better coordination, and reduce friction across systems without losing sight of the human beings behind the data.
Designing effective digital healthcare experiences means understanding how care actually works, in practice and across the system. We help healthcare teams improve the tools that matter most, from patient platforms to clinician dashboards and care coordination systems.
We lead with research that sees the system, engaging patients, providers, and staff to surface real barriers to better care. We move quickly with prototypes that evolve from trust, creating space for shared learning and iteration. And we help shape strategies for the long haul that keep digital experiences evolving through structured roadmapping and ongoing prioritization. We focus on practices that support continuous iteration, team alignment, and responsiveness over time.
Real projects. Real people. Real progress.

My Cancer IQ
Cancer Care Ontario
2018
We partnered with Cancer Care Ontario to understand why so many users were dropping off before completing a risk assessment. Through in-person usability testing on both desktop and mobile, we explored where users struggled, what built confidence, and how people made sense of their results. We identified quick fixes that reduced friction, as well as deeper issues around trust and engagement. The insights helped the My CancerIQ team make targeted design changes that encouraged users to start an assessment, follow it through, and explore the next one.

System Performance
Canadian Partnership Against Cancer
2020
We partnered with CPAC to reimagine a national tool for exploring cancer system data. We led a product vision workshop, conducted interviews with analysts and policy leaders, and mapped out how people actually use data to inform decisions. From there, we created a set of design principles, interface recommendations, and content strategies to make the tool more useful, consistent, and aligned with real workflows. The result was a clearer direction for the product, grounded in the needs of the people using it to improve cancer care across Canada.

Patient Pathways
Cancer Care Ontario
2019
We worked with Cancer Care Ontario to redesign how complex cancer journeys are visualized and understood. Starting with foundational UX and information design, we helped build a new digital standard for patient pathways. Later, we were re-engaged to prototype and test the breast cancer pathway with clinicians and system stakeholders. Through co-creation and usability testing, we surfaced the friction points, clarified the structure, and helped shape a tool that could be trusted, shared, and acted on by the people who rely on it most.
Introducing the new Hostile Sheep
We’ve always been here to challenge what needs challenging and protect what matters most. What’s changed is how clearly we see the systems we’re part of and how intentionally we choose to engage with them. Hostile Sheep is no longer just our name. It's our stance. If you'd like to know what we stand for, we wrote it down.
