Helping nonprofits turn purpose into practical tools.

Nonprofits do some of the hardest, most important work in our society, often without the resources they deserve. We partner with teams who are delivering public value and help them create digital experiences that are clear, accessible, and aligned with the people they serve. Through research that sees the system, prototypes that evolve from trust, and strategies for the long haul, we support organizations as they scale their impact and navigate change.

Designing effective digital experiences for nonprofits means understanding the systems, relationships, and constraints that shape mission-driven work. We help organizations build the tools that matter most, from public service platforms to grant portals, resource libraries, and learning environments.

We lead with research that sees the system, engaging staff, stakeholders, and service users to surface real barriers to access and impact. We move quickly with prototypes that evolve from trust, creating space for iteration and shared decision-making. And we help shape strategies for the long haul that keep digital experiences evolving through clear prioritization, collaborative roadmapping, and practical measurement. We focus on helping teams move with confidence, even when resources are tight and the path ahead is uncertain.

Real projects. Real people. Real progress.

Penn State Go

The Pennsylvania State University

2021

Our work with Penn State started years ago, when we helped launch their mobile app. More recently, we teamed up again to co-create a new experience designed just for parents and families. Through open conversations and collaborative prototyping, we shaped a tool that responded to the real needs of people supporting students from the sidelines. The result felt personal and practical and it meant a lot to build it together with a team that shares our belief in listening first.

Quash

Lung Health Foundation

2021

Quash wasn’t just another app. It was a mission to help teens quit smoking and vaping, in a way that actually resonated with them. We partnered closely with the Lung Health Foundation and spent time with teens across Ontario, learning what was working, what wasn’t, and where the app could do better. Our work led to thoughtful updates, clearer content, and a better plan for what comes next. But more than that, it felt like building something hopeful with people who really care.

Scouts Registration

Scouts Canada

2025

We joined our friends at The Moment to help Scouts Canada untangle one of their toughest challenges: the national registration process. It wasn’t just about usability. It was about creating something that worked for busy volunteers, diverse families, and a community that runs on heart. We co-created solutions with people from across the country and helped shape a clearer, more welcoming experience. It was a meaningful project, and an even more meaningful partnership.

Introducing the new Hostile Sheep

We’ve always been here to challenge what needs challenging and protect what matters most. What’s changed is how clearly we see the systems we’re part of and how intentionally we choose to engage with them. Hostile Sheep is no longer just our name. It's our stance. If you'd like to know what we stand for, we wrote it down.
